" Make A Statement "
A vehicle, just like a house needs a good foundation and the longevity of the finished product relies on the structure it is built on. Back in the day, Ford, Dodge and others had already eliminated most of the wood for their inner body structure but Chevrolet was a shade behind. Over the years the wood has rotted out therefore made them more difficult to rebuild.
This Chevy is getting the "hotrod" treatment so we are replacing all the wood with metal. Considerations to keep in mind during an undertaking like this are; we want it to be squeak free & not have the doors sag or the body to vibrate or rattle over time.
Each new piece is hand formed out of a 16 gauge metal sheet to the same shape as the outer body & re-enforced to help in the unfortunate event of an accident. We are also adding mounting points for the power windows and a built in defog system in the front dashboard. Filling the roof with a metal panel & fabricating floorboards are still to come.
